Cesare Ripa was an Italian artist whose book Iconologia was an important reference book for artists for centuries. The book lists tons of characters who each represent a virtue, vice, or feelings, complete with props.

 

Modern OCs, adoptables, and character reference sheets for animated shows often use similar tricks to create a character. The purpose of this project is to do character design "updating" Ripa's list of characters, and to practice making character reference sheets.

 

There is no one way to make a character reference sheet which is set in stone, but we are working on a template for you to make it simple for you to join in this upcoming project.
